Deal: Torchlight $5 On Steam And Direct2Drive This Weekend

This weekend, both Steam and Direct2Drive are offering the award-winning, loot-rich RPG Torchlight for 75% off the normal price: $5 on Steam, and a few pennies less on D2D. That's pretty much an impulse buy in my book.
For those unaware, Torchlight is a Diablo-esque RPG created by some ex-Blizzard folk, now working at Runic Games. It's not too deep or complicated, but involves dungeons, monsters, chests, and a pet dog or cat that can go back and sell your stuff for you. It's not too taxing on your system (it even has a netbook mode), and pretty much acts as a fun distraction when you just need to hit stuff with magic spells or big swords. A demo is available if you need to try it out first, but both sales end Monday. If you're even a little curious, skip the Subway sandwich this week and check it out.

I'm still amazed you're hocking here this despite Perfect World (their publisher) being actively anti-gay. Hello?
As far as I'm aware their "anti-gay" sentiment boils down to not including same-sex relationships in their online titles. While that's not ideal by any stretch, it's no more anti-gay than the lack of inclusion in most other games. As a Chinese company based in Beijing, at that, I wouldn't really expect them to take a progressive stance on this issue. If there's something else they've done I'd love to see a link somewhere because otherwise it's escaped my attention and my ability to google specific news-- certainly their community seems a bit lackluster on the issue but again, this is representative of most MMOG communities.
And at any rate the publisher is different from the developer; Torchlight is an excellent Diablo clone and well worth the $5 price.
WTF people we don't have to like each other or how we live our lives gay not gay just live your own life
Get over it it already
