PAX East Swag
One of the biggest draws for any con has got to be the swag. You never know what you'll find whilst traversing the expo floor. Sometimes it's just a crappy pen from some random flash drive company but at other times you might be lucky enough to score a copy of a game!
I wasn't so lucky this time around but I did find some interesting stuff. Some of the highlights include:
- A deck of Magic cards that was included in the standard PAX East swag bag along with a magazine-sized program of the show.
- A large Red Dead Redemption poster.
- A T-shirt from Power Gig; Rise Of The Sixstring, a new Rock Bandesque game coming to the Xbox and PS3.
- A Rock Band Network compilation CD featuring some of the bands featured on the service, which allows artists to submit their own music for users to buy in Rock Band.
- A model robot.
- A Ball of Participation from Medaverse Studios.
- A mini collection of a tube of fuel, red frisbee flyer and finger extractor from Mommy's Best Games.
This collection let me down a little, considering the PAX '09 standard swag bag included a trial copy of Lord Of The Rings Online. I understand that this is the inaugural show for PAX East and most of the blockbuster games are already out, so maybe a little frugality is in order for companies that just wish to show their presence. Let's hope that they decide to step up the game for next year and give out a bag with more quality and less flyer fire kindling.

I also got a Skate 3 skateboard, a Mafia II jacket, a Transformers cap, a copy of The Fourth Kind.
I have 3 decks of those Magic cards, which I intend to give away. :)
