Vana'diel Expands with More FFXI DLC

ffxidlc.jpg

You know, with all the hype about the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII, I'd completely forgotten about Final Fantasy XI. But apparently the MMORPG is still popular enough to warrant more expansions as Square Enix has announced three more add-on scenarios scheduled to launch throughout 2010 to give the die-hards new equipment to collect and challenging monsters to combat.

The first pack is called Vision of Abyssea, and is scheduled to release early in the summer of 2010, and will be followed by Scars of Abyssea and Heroes of Abyssea. All of them will be available via the PlayOnline Viewer at the cost of $9.99 each. Keep in mind that the previously released expansion packs Rise of the Zilart and Wings of the Goddess will be required to play this new DLC. Although Squeenix hasn't solidified any release dates yet, they do promise that the add-ons will release across all regions (North America, Japan and Europe) and all supported platforms (PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and PC) at the same time.

They actually announced much more than just these expansions, at Vanafest they announced game-changing updates slated for the future...

Things like increasing the level cap... to 99.... yeah, game-changing, check out the slew of other updates!

I'm surprised to see all of those planned changes, considering that they're shutting down 8 of the 32 servers shortly.

It just won't be the same FFXI without Fairy. :(

honestly, I am kinda shocked that so few servers need to be merged. a friend was shocked that Alexander wasn't on that list, though we had a good 1200+ currently online players on a Sunday evening. I guess Alexander is an acceptably populated, but very lazy server.

Seraph is doing fine although it seems that the play on seraph is very isolated to only HNM shells; and getting help for anything less than HNM activity, is near impossible. Might have been why Seraph is being moved into Bismark. Although I'm still pretty sad to see Saraph go.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
