Video: Dragon Age: Awakening: Spirit Of Justice Trailer
Above we have the newest character revealed for the Dragon Age: Origins expansion, Awakening. This could be interesting:
Not all the denizens of the Fade identify with darker emotions like rage and pride. Some embody the nobler qualities found in humanity: faith, hope, compassion, and justice. Justice is not a name, it is an identity. A victim of magic gone awry, Justice has been torn from the Fade against his will and trapped in the body of a dead Grey Warden. Lost and disoriented, he seeks a guide to help make sense of this alien world and demonstrate what it means to be human.
Justice doesn't seem like he'll be the cuddliest member of the crew (although a romance option with a living corpse would be ... unique), but his angst could provide some interesting conflicts, especially if you play a character not exactly following the straight and narrow.
It looks like there's one more new companion to be officially revealed, which will likely coincide with the last page of the Penny Arcade comic being written for the game. Dragon Age: Origins: Awakening is out this Tuesday for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
Dragon Age: Origins - Justice [Bioware]

Hm, given how other denizens of the fade are a lot more impressive looking. I find a dessicated walking corpse to be rather dissapointing.
In fact, of the characters revealed so far (the ones I've seen anyway), none strike me as having an all that interesting and memorable character design.
It's a bit plainsville.
Nexus, isn't that a bit unfair an assessment? After all, you hadn't yet played this and all you're working with are glimpses via trailer and synopsis.
Personally I'm intrigued by the story of Justice. I'll do his quest to find out more and then I'll see what I think of him.
I don't think Nexus needs more to make that complaint. He is complaining about the DESIGN of the characters, not their personalities.
And, for the record, I agree with him. They've been rather boring so far.
gotta agree with Nexus, and make that a double for pretty much every character design for just about every bioware game. Because of interchangeable equipment, the only constant visual distinction between characters is their heads.
I wouldn't go that far. I thought most of the partymembers in the main game were alright and distinct enough.
My problem with Anders, the apostate mage, for instance is that he looks like any regular unimportant NPC you might have run across in the main game.
Partymembers IMO should be more visually appealing. Something about them should pop out at the player.
Now granted, the undead look is slightly unique, but aside from that his design is again like any other random DAO NPC.
I'd prefer a being from the fade to look more non-human. It could've been Awakenings' Shale.
Why not a design as stunning as the rage or pride demon? But with a more benevolent look to it.
What you are overlooking, Nexus, is that this is NOT the true form of Justice, the undead body is merely the form he was trapped in.
Quote: "...trapped in the body of a dead Grey Warden."
That excludes ANY non-human characteristics....
Not overlooking anything. That's just how they chose to do things. They could've just as easilly written a story for the character that kept him in his original form.
It just feels like a waste of a potentially great character design.
I yearn for unique npcs such as those in Torment; a succubus priest who's god is herself, a floating skull, an eternally burning man, a hollow suit of armour.
Hmm ... strange. What I found so intriguing about the companions in DA: Origins was EXACTLY that they looked quite ordinary (well, perhaps except Morrigans stripperific outfit). They could be anybody in the world ... but then you got to know their backstories and they took on character. *shrug* different strokes for different people I guess.
@Painbow
Morrigan and Alistair of course... i find him very attractive ^^
