Frank West's "Subtle" Appearance In Left 4 Dead 2's "The Passing"

frankwestnote.jpg

The Left 4 Dead 2 DLC "The Passing" launches today and will bring together the casts of the first and second games in the series. But, unbeknownst to most players, another hero from a zombie game will be making a guest appearance. In a fashion...

My buddy Christopher was playing "The Passing" (don't ask me when he got up and actually started playing this morning) when he discovered a not scrawled on one of the walls of the buildings left by none other than Dead Rising's Frank West!

Otis,

Out of film, No helicopter.
Zombies are too fast
Not going to make it.

Frank West

Otis, of course, was your mall maintenance buddy from Dead Rising who saw fit to bother you constantly with messages bleeping from your walkie talkie.

Kudos to Valve for another clever and well placed in joke in Left 4 Dead. I don't think this reaches quite as high a mark as "Gnome Chompski" but it's pretty damned close.

There are also references to both the original Dawn of the Dead and the 2004 remake in the same room as the writing from Frank West. Thank you Valve.

The Passing is a tad bit short, but finding out what happened to the four survivors from the first L4D made it all worth it to me.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
