I can't help but feel like Nintendo dropped the ball for Wii downloads this week. First up we have Fishie Fishie, a one-button game that sounds like a combination of Popcap's Feeding Fenzy and competitive multiplayer modes like soccer and capture the flag. There's a trailer for the game up for those interested, which really must be seen to be believed. Also on WiiWare is Learning with the PooYoos: Episode 2, a "poetic trainer for children aged 3 to 6." So all of you 3-6 year olds reading Gaygamer, this is the game for you! (Disclaimer: if you can read this article then this is not the game for you, as the game description reads: "This game was designed for children who have not yet grasped reading.")
Things look a bit brighter on the virtual console with import NeoGeo CD shooter Ironclad. I had never actually heard of Ironclad before today, but it looks like a quality shmup even if it does come at a premium price.
The DSi shop is looking better than the Wii's with the release of three games from the previously Club Nintendo only Game and Watch DS series. Those games are Game & Watch: Manhole, Game & Watch: Helmet, and Game & Watch: Vermin. Also on DSiware is Mr. Driller: Drill Till You Drop, an all new Mr. Driller with an exclusive new Dristone mode for the DSiware release.
Finally, for owners of the new WarioWare D.I.Y. or WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase there are new free microgames available to download from World of Goo's Ron Carmel and Daisuke Amaya (aka Pixel) of Cave Story fame. If that's not a pleasant and unexpected surprise, I don't know what is.

So, anyone play Ironclad yet? I've never tried it out, but I hear it's a so-so shmup with interesting graphics and good gameplay, despite requiring enemy position memorization.
I'd of picked it up by now, but for ten bucks I'd kinda like to know if I'll enjoy it.
