Review: Kasumi - Stolen Memory DLC

As a huge Mass Effect fan, I was excited to download the Kasumi - Stolen Memory add on for Mass Effect 2. It features an entirely new character to add to your squad, the super-talented thief Kasumi Goto, as well as her loyalty mission. There's also a new weapon, Kasumi's loyalty power, another research option, and an Achievement. The real question, though, is it worth the download?
Kasumi herself is a terrific character, and her flashbang grenade power is cool. Also, there's a cutscene towards the end of the mission where she shows off some pretty nifty moves. Her loyalty mission is a nice change of pace, too. While it does ultimately degenerate into the usual Mass Effect run-and-gun gameplay, the first part has you James Bond-ing it up all over a ritzy mansion to break into a vault. It's surprisingly fun, if not terribly challenging. Heck, when you go to the Citadel to track her down, she's not even that hard to find! I did enjoy that after the mission was over, you also get to keep your party dress, and wearing that as you stride around the Normandy is kind of hilarious. I assume the male character gets a tux, but I don't know first-hand.
The only real problem with Stolen Memory is that it's really not worth the money. I suppose if you're still in the middle of playing Mass Effect 2, Kasumi would be a good addition to your team. But if you've already finished it like I have, $7 for one mission is a little much. While it was fun while it lasted, it didn't last long. I feel like it was barely more than an hour. If you're a die hard fan, you've probably already bought this, but if you're still on the fence, I would suggest waiting until they discount it a bit.

This was what I was afraid of. Sounds like a neat albeit short cash-in, and I'm really surprised they offer what amounts to a very minute experience for such an odd price. Maybe more will come out and they will release it in a pack of some sort? One can hope.
Thanks for the review, Wootini. Think I'll stay on the fence a bit longer.
