Ron Gilbert Leaves Hothead

Ron Gilbert as keynote speaker at PAX Prime 2009.

Ron Gilbert, whom some may know for his SCUMM days, has posted on his own blog that he has left Hothead Games now that DeathSpank is finishing up and being certified and tested for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. However, as he states it:

I wanted to let all the Premium Gold Level Grumpy Gamer subscribers know that I left Hothead. When I started working there two years ago, my goal was to make DeathSpank the most awesome game ever made and have it win a Nobel Prize and the early word out of Stockholm is that DeathSpank is neck-in-neck with some string theory dweeb (eleven dimensions my ass).

He mentions continuing to work with both EA and Hothead to promote the game. Alongside this he makes some vague mention of both using his blog and Twitter (to date, he's used it once to Tweet 'bacon') more, hopefully to keep us informed of his next project. While many seem to be clamoring for more Monkey Island, I'd personally like to see something a bit more original these days (after all, TellTale has provided me with plenty more Threepwood to play).

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
