Test Your Gaming Music Knowledge With Sampla

Videogames are filled with memorable music. Themes from the classics are still instantly recognizable decades after they first were played. Or are they? Sampla: The Videogame Music Quiz by John Freeborn is a here to test your knowledge of gaming music, from E.T. on the Atari to Halo. And as great as a game of "Name That Tune" with gaming music is, what makes Sampla even better (at least to me) is that all of the tracks have all been MIDI-fied into 8-bit form. Sure, most of the tracks come from that era anyway, but hearing 8-bit versions of Parapa the Rapper, Jet Set Radio, and Shemnue is a rare treat.
Hop on over to the Sampla game site to see how well you know your gaming tunes. Then come back and compare your scores in the comments. Can you beat my high score of 3,300?

hearing some of these in midi form makes it really difficult to discern what they are. this is made worse by the fact I need to crank my speakers for some, while others are just fine.
