Video: The Whispered World Demo And Trailer
Developed by Daedalic Entertainment and published by Deep Silver in Europe and Viva Media in the US, The Whispered World is a glance backward at the adventure game genre. True to the form and genre, the game itself is point-and-click, with hand-drawn backgrounds, and a quirky storyline.
You play as Sadwick, a young clown who happens to not always be happy; following him is a shapeshifting companion whose forms are learned through the game. Strange? Perhaps. In line with fairy tales? Sure. German? Yep.
An English-speaking demo is now available (previously it has been available in German), for those who want to experience the first four chapters.
The game is set to launch April 23 in the UK, and according to Amazon, April 26 in the United States (at $29.99), though no official word exists on their site concerning such. The game has already been delayed, so let us hope it comes to pass as stated.

I am so PUMPED about this, I have been waiting for this game for like five years or so, following it through its dev period, this is the best birthday present ever comming just the day after. I'm so happy.
"Classic in the making"? "Long-awaited"? This is the first time I've ever heard of it... XD
This looks very nice, if somewhat outdated. Very reminiscent of the old Sierra game "Thorin's Passage", to me. Hopefully it delivers what it promises, I would have no qualms seeing the new rise of point'n'click adventure games. ;)
