Video: Final Fight: Double Impact Is Impactful
Let's talk about impressive packages for a moment. I'm a big fan of retro re-releases but it takes a little something extra to really impress my spoiled self nowadays. I would count Capcom's re-release of Final Fight as something to look forward to by itself, but what turns this into an instant purchase for me is the creative "arcade mode" visualizer that puts the original game's arcade boarder around the screen while emulating a old CRT monitor and the inclusion of Capcom cult-favorite Magic Sword. Now I've spent a lot of money in the arcades, but few games have drained my pockets of money the way that Magic Sword did back in the day. The ability to play it at home with some extra bells and whistles makes me all giddy! Come on, any game with characters called things like "Big Man," "Amazon," and the ever so creatively dubbed "Lizardman" demand to be played. Luckily the wait is (mostly) over as Final Fight: Double Impact can be downloaded this week on Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network for $10.
