Video Leak: Sonic Adventure Headed To XBLA?
Update: Well, that didn't take long, did it? It appears as though Sega Europe pulled the videos. Oh well...
In an interesting "it's not Sonic 4, but whatever..." tidbit of news it appears that Sonic Adventure may be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade soon. Footage of a work in progress version leaked this weekend showing off some of the early levels seen in the Dreamcast title. While shakey cam footage, it looks as if it's running pretty smoothly and has visually aged relatively well. Also of note are the achievements that are seen here that mention the greatest Sonic character ever, Metal Sonic. While the Dreamcast version didn't feature this incredibly awesome villain, he was a nice addition to the GameCube "DX" version. Feel free to start debating whether Sega is giving 360 owners the DX version out of the gate or forcing them to buy the extras as DLC.
Gamer Bytes is quick to mention that these clips may get pulled at any moment since we still haven't heard about this project through official channels, but with the game looking this polished and refined, it's only a matter of time before we here something from the house of hedgehog (hopefully this will include some news for our PS3 brothers and sisters).
I've always liked Sonic and gladly picked this game up when I had my Dreamcast, but I'm going to be blunt here... I don't think this game is really worth revisiting unless you haven't played it before and even then I'm still on fence if this is actually a good Sonic game or not. Sonic Adventure was kind of the beginning of the end for me personally and I wonder if Sega's attention and resources might be served better elsewhere. We've already seen is on other consoles and I don't think it holds up as well as the Genesis entries, but what do I know, I don't run Sega.

Judging by the footage it looks like the Metal Sonic achievements are part of the game's 200 gamerscore points, which would mean they are part of the game and not DLC to be paid for later.
oh i thought you guys already knew about this... did i not read about it here? i recall someone making a post about the achievement list when it first became available. at any rate, it would give me an excuse to play this game again. let's be honest, i'm not going to be knocking the dust off of my gamecube any time soon. plus, it's the DX version, so there's that. too bad there is nothing i can really do with the Chao though, since there isn't a portable garden this time around... or is there?
