Watch The Alan Wake Prequel Now

When Wootini reported on the live action Alan Wake prequel, Bright Falls, Microsoft was claiming that Xbox Live Gold members would get the exclusive first look at them. Well, perhaps the lure of the Gray Lady was too much because, although I can't seem to find them on the Zune or XBL Marketplace, the New York Times Arts Beat blog has the first two episodes streaming there.
In the videos, reporter Jake Fisher is visiting (returning to?) Bright Falls during their annual Deer Fest. The production values are good, and set an uneasy tone. Hopefully future episodes will be able to balance the crazy with the mundane, as that's pretty much the pacific northwest in a nutshell. There are only a few glimpses of the titular author Alan Wake, so it remains to be seen exactly how the videos will tie into the game.
Like I said, the New York Times has them streaming now at the link below. If you'd rather see them on your TV screen, Microsoft promised these to Xbox Live Gold members, so expect to see them pop up on Xbox Live sooner rather than later. Feel free to check now! Eventually all 6 episodes should go up on www.brightfalls.com. Alan Wake will be out for Xbox 360 May 18th, launching a few days earlier in Europe.
