Dragon Age Origins: Darkspawn Chronicles DLC Pack Coming Soon
Whenever I see new DLC for Dragon Age I get a tingle down my spine. The geek in me gears up for what is sure to be a quality dose of fantasy fare. BioWare is known for mixing things up but this new spin on the Dragon Age formulas surprised me and has me curious in an unexpected way.
This DLC pack takes place in an alternate reality where Alistair is the head of the the Grey Wardens. The DLC begins with your character dying during his Joining ceremony and becomes a hurlock vanguard, capable of commanding legions of Darkspawn! Some of the monsters you will be controlling are genlocks, hurlocks, shrieks and mighty ogres. Some of the other feature this pack will include:
- An epic darkspawn item for use in Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening.
- The "Enthrall" ability - recruit any darkspawn you encounter into your party.
It will be interesting to see this game from the other side and I am excited to see the class skills inherent to each Darkspawn. The layout seems like it's set up to be combat centric as I imagine the Darkspawn to have little interest in developing meaningful relationships. It will be available starting May 18th, on the Xbox 360 for 400 Microsoft Points, PC for 400 BioWare points and the PS 3 for $4.99/£3.99/€4.99.

For the first time ever, fight as the darkspawn in BioWare's Dragon Age: Origins. In the new downloadable content pack, Dragon Age: Origins Darkspawn Chronicles, players have the chance to experience life on the dark side, playing as the corrupted army of the Blight, are enslaved to the will of the Archdemon. In Europe, Darkspawn Chronicles will be available for the Xbox 360 videogame system for 400 Microsoft points and PC for 400 BioWare points on May 18th and on PlayStation Network for £3.99/€4.99 with its launch date to be announced later.
The Darkspawn Chronicles offers players a look at an alternate history in the Dragon Age universe. Darkspawn Chronicles begins as your character dies during the Joining ceremony, and the Grey Wardens now march under Alistair's command. As a hurlock vanguard, you alone hold the power to make thralls of their fellow darkspawn and drive them into the heat of battle as Denerim burns! This adventure gives you command of genlocks, hurlocks, shrieks, and even the mighty ogres.
Key features include:
o Imagine a world without heroes, where the greatest among you never became a Grey Warden.
o Play through the Fall of Denerim from the perspective of the darkspawn.
o Complete the module and unlock an epic darkspawn item for use in Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening.
o Use the "Enthrall" ability - recruit any darkspawn you encounter into your party.

hot damn does this look cool, will probably pick it up. of course it would be nice if they dropped a patch to deal with the constant game freezing first...

Sweeet! An alternate run through where you can run-through your ol teammates with a stabby! Yeah! Stabby! Should be fun with darkling giggles and explodies! Woot! Run in fear silly heros!
Yippeee! I am so ready to kill Leliana during her stupid comments about violence being the answer. I wonder if it will pick up on Shale being a viable party member...
