Dragon Quest IX Finally Dated In The US And Europe

It's been a long time coming, but the next iteration in the Dragon Quest series finally has a US release date, and that date is July 11. That's exactly one year after the Japanese release on July 11 last year. And not too long after that one year anniversary, Dragon Quest IX will be released in Europe on July 23. Dragon Quest IX will be published in the states and Europe by Nintendo, no doubt inspired by the 4 million plus sales of the game in Japan.
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies will be a bit different from past numbered entries in the series when it hits shores in July thanks to its expansive character customization, mission based storyline, and focus on multiplayer. And while I've been worried that this ninth game will be lacking in the compelling story and strong character personalities that I first fell in love with the series for thanks to the new multiplayer direction, I must admit that I am still very excited by the prospect of venturing into a new Dragon Quest world and giving some hammerhoods the beating they deserve. Stupid mallet-wielding rodents.
Update: A slight update to show off the new US box art for Dragon Quest IX. Shiny.
