Fable III Gets Limited With Gorgeous Case And In-Game Goodies

There wasn't ever really any doubt that Fable III would get the Limited Edition treatment, pretty much every high profile release does nowadays. The only question was, how would Microsoft and Lionhead make the Limited Edition worth shelling out the extra cash for. Taking a page from the Alan Wake Limited Edition, Fable III's will come packaged in a faux leather-bound book, which honestly is enough to get the geek in me on board. But they're really going all-out for Fable III, and it's not just the case that makes the Limited Edition special. It's what's inside that counts.
- A new quest: Uncover the mystery of the haunted forests of Silverpines and earn the legendary sword, Wolfsbane, deadly against wolves and balverines.
- Exclusive location: Unlock a new region, ideal for settling down with a family and discovering new treasures.
- "Fable III" playing cards: Created by Lionhead, these cards depict every type of character in "Fable III," including Heroes, royals, rebels and villains from across Albion and beyond.
- Guild Seal Coin: The coin features a Good side (blue) and Evil side (red) to assist players in making critical decisions that will impact the fate of the world forever.
- A new dog breed: Renowned for its loyalty, the Boxer is a brave canine companion worthy of greatest Queens and Kings.
- One unique outfit: Unearth one male and female outfit from the mysterious, faraway land of Aurora, a new destination in your "Fable III" adventures.
That's a lot of in-game content. I wonder how much that new location, quest, and dog breed will cost when they're inevitably released as DLC later on. Well, as long as it's around $20 then the Limited Edition is a bargain. Yup, in typical Limited Edition fashion, Fable III Limited Collector's Edition will run you $79.99 (£59.99) as opposed to the standard $59.99 version or the $49.99 Windows PC version. But sorry PC gamers, the Limited Edition is Xbox 360 exclusive, though all of that bonus content will be available for the PC as DLC.
Wait, Fable III is coming to PC? Gotta love those stealth announcements.

Uhmmm, so is the PC ever getting Fable 2 released?
*is confused*
The next time you guys talk to Peter, could you ask him how being gay is going to work in III? Because you play the child of the protagonist in II, so something is already off if your character in II was gay. And they're really focusing on family in III, so just some confirmation of any sort would be cool.
Finally! I don't mind if they skipped Fable II for the PC as long as I can get Fable III.
Time to get a new PC then!
I for one am not going to hold my breath, Lionhead studios seems to be rather popular in promising a lot and delivering little. Remember when Fable 2 was to come out and they offered people not only in game stuff but things like a hobbes figurine and cards?
Then at the last moment they flubbed up and took them away? So yeah not too much faith right now that we will be getting everything they 'promise'. Always willing to be surprised though...hopefully.
Really hope we dont end up with the awful collectors edition of Fable 2, This looks nice, I like the cards but they failed to print 4 fate cards for Fable 2 and gave a PDF to all, how will they do 54 (52 no jokers)?
Then again Im not sure if Ill get 3 after the disappointment in the ending choices and DLC of 2.
I'm seconding Purplerose's encouragement for Gaygamer.net to ask Peter about the focus on family/kin, how the babe is your offspring from Fable 2 if you were gay, what it means for gay couples, and how that factors in with online multiplayer, too.
They mentioned people could do more than just play in their buddy's world, they could potentially wed their co-op partner? Something vague was said, but I'd like to know more about it and whether or not same-sex co-op players can rule as Queen and Queen or King and King over the kingdom.
