Gears Of War 2 Offers Experience For Social Matching

Starting today, Title Update 6 for Gears of War 2 will add a new multiplayer feature called Social Matches that will allow players to jump in and out of games without disruptions, including Horde mode matches. It also lets your party join a match already in progress or start a new match if no suitable ones can be found. The thing is, social matching is only available to those who own all four downloadable map packs. At least they're easy to get as the All Fronts Collection on Xbox LIVE at the discounted price of 800 MP, or included in the Gears of War 2: Game of the Year Edition that's only $30. But if you just need to fill in some blanks to get all four, the separate map packs are also available on LIVE at a discount.
To spark a renewed interest in Gears multiplayer, Epic and Microsoft are running a Triple Experience Weekend on Xbox LIVE starting today, Thursday, May 27, at 9:00 AM EDT and running until Tuesday, June 1 at 9:00 AM EDT. The title is pretty much self-explanatory, but during this time span you'll earn triple experience in any Gears of War 2 multiplayer mode on LIVE.
