This week EA's Play Label ERTS Announced that Toni Braxton will be included in the tracks getting the Sims treatment in the Sims 3 Ambitions Expansion Pack. Additional artists include Rise Against with 'Savior' which was featured in The Sims 3 Ambitions trailer, Charice, OK Go, and Lady Antebellum with 'Need You Now.'
Hearing some of these artists definitely adds to the Sims Experience and gives it more clout as a pop culture phenomenon. EA had this to say about giving these artist the Sims musical treatment:
"Each time we set out to create a soundtrack for an expansion pack, it's always exciting matching the vibe of the game to the music by our incredible lineup of extremely diverse artists," said Robi Kauker, Audio Director for The Sims Studio at EA. "It's fun hearing hit tracks in the language of The Sims, and I think fans will be pleased to find their favorites songs and artists throughout this game, and will no doubt discover new bands to follow in The Sims 3 Ambitions."
Currently there are a variety of musical groups available to help you adjust to that new Sims career.

I am not ok with this.
I absolutely LOVE the fact that the sims music was almost always instrumental with the occasional simlish.
Adding current pop songs does not fit the sims music style at all.
Even the sims 2 music was a bit of an adjustment.
I pray I can turn off all pop music crap in the options so I can just hear the normal instrumental music.
