Sid Meier's Pirates Sets Sail On The Wii

The 2004 revamp of Sid Meier's Pirates has made its way onto quite a few platforms, and 2K Games announced today that it will be plundering the Nintendo Wii this fall. The Wii version is being developed by 2K China, and will naturally add some Wiimote-specific controls.
"We are big fans of the Wii and think Pirates! is the perfect game to bring to that platform," said Sid Meier, director of creative development at Firaxis Games, and designer of the Sid Meier's Pirates! series. "We're sure Wii fans will enjoy the timeless adventure of being a pirate captain on the high seas as much as all of our other fans have!"
The Wii version will contain the mini-games from the original, such as sword fighting, ship combat, and dancing, but adds in two Wii-exclusive ones: bombardment and lock picking. And if that wasn't enough, the Wii will also offer exclusive character and ship customization options.

This excites me greatly. I spent so many hours chasing governor's daughters (and wishing they had available sons instead) and sinking the Armada. Can't wait 'til it arrives on Wii!
