Sing It, Disney!

Almost two years ago (wow, really? that long?), I wrote about a Disney-themed SingStar game for the PS2 that was only available in Europe. But I loved the idea, which is why I'm quite thrilled that Disney Interactive Studios has announced the summer 2010 release of Disney Sing It: Family Hits for the PS3 and Wii!
The game will feature songs from Disney classics like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book, as well as newer favorites like The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Aladdin, and The Princess and The Frog. Of course, they're also including tunes from Toy Story and Cars, but I don't count those because I don't like Randy Newman.
The full-screen HD videos will feature montages as well as footage from the movies. You can sing solo, duet or head-to-head. There's also a Family Mode where you can pass the microphone around to up to eight players. The Sing It Encore Mode will let you play back your performances and add effects (hopefully vocoder so I can make myself sound better!). And to help you improve your vocal talents, thereby unlocking awards and Disney themes, Tony award-winning singer/actress Anika Noni Rose (the voice of Princess Tiana in The Princess and the Frog) will take you through a series of voice lessons and tutorials. You know, that's something no other karaoke game I know of has done before, and man I could use the help!
I look forward to seeing the final song list for Disney Sing It: Family Hits so I can tell whether or not I'm going to pick it up. Oh, who am I kidding? I'm all over this just for the classic tunes alone! Tale as old as time...

deep down inside im really excited for 'a whole new world'. a terrible song to sing at the bar, but wonderful when drunk in the privacy of your own box/home.
