Video: FiNCK
The game is a platforming puzzle game. You run around looking for coins and progressing through the levels, and since there are only twenty-five coins, it requires a bit more care to find and obtain them. There are no lives, but death is possible; it resets you to the beginning of a particular section, and can sometimes be necessary in order to test the world. While a tutorial exists, a lot of my own exploration was in terms of trial and error. Different blocks have different properties (some are heavier than others--others slide more readily), holding different enemies changes how you jump, and a further jump is possible by throwing something down at the apex of a jump to extend the jump's distance.
While perhaps not as atmospheric as other games in his portfolio, FiNCK is still quite heavy on using its graphics and music to convey a bit more to the player. I was a particular fan of the music, which had an electronica minimalist feel to it. In fact, while the game is free, there are two packs you can buy, and one is an MP3 pack that ends the songs properly, instead of just looping them. The other is custom level support.
The custom level support is for the levels others have made, and the main page has listed a few of the levels that were made during the beta. There is also a level submission thread on the forums, if you wish to further explore various community-based levels (thus far there is only one). The editor itself is available for download on the main page.
