Video: Inside Lionhead Episode 2
In the newest installment of the Inside Lionhead video series, Peter Molyneux talks up Fable III some more. Now, as a big fan of the first two games in this series, I'm still very excited about another sequel, even as certain things are starting to cause me a little concern. I mean, I could care less about John Cleese voicing your butler, and the copious footage of him taping his voiceover and talking about the character does nothing to convince me that it's just another distracting celebrity voice. And I'm not sure why Molyneux thinks that a 3D GUI interface is so revolutionary. I mean, 3D maps are no big deal. (I'm assuming they'll fix all that pop-up before release) And I hope that your "wardrobe room" or whatever is available to you at any time from the menu and not some special place in the world where you have to go to change your clothes. Because that would be annoying. No, what has me most concerned is his reveal that the game is pushing aside some of the RPG elements to focus more on being an action/adventure. See, I happen to like the RPG elements. Fable has always been an action/adventure game with RPG elements. And I worry that if they take away too much RPG, we're going to be left with a boring action game. But at least that gives me hope that halfway through Fable III, when you apparently become king/queen of Albion, it's not going to morph into a sim/stratgegy game where you're forced to give up adventuring around the gorgeous countryside so you can maintain the city streets and monitor importing and exporting goods and services. Booooring!

I can't help but envision extremely long loading times.
That's what I'm worried about too... Fable II got pretty laggy at times, even if largely in terms of navigating the menu.
I will never again believe for a single second the lofty ambitions of Molyneux will ever be realised after the travesty that was Fable 2.
