Video: So You Think You Can Just Dance?
I have to say that since I usually go for games like this, I was sorely tempted to pick up a copy of Ubisoft's Just Dance when it was released on the Nintendo Wii. Especially when I saw it discounted during GameStop's recent sale. But the idea of dancing with just one Wiimote seemed half-assed compared to using two like in We Cheer. But I digress...
With sales of Just Dance heading quickly to the 3 million mark, Ubisoft is launching a global dance contest to find someone to star in the sequel! The top dancer in France, the United Kingdom and the United States will each be flown to the Ubisoft Paris studio to meet with the development team and have their own choreography recorded and produced for inclusion in Just Dance 2! (Which they desperately need to subtitle "Electric Boogaloo," by the way...)
You can head on over to their Facebook page for the full rules, but basically you tape yourself dancing to "Proud Mary" by Ike and Tina Turner (solo, no groups!) and then upload it to YouTube and send the link to enter it in the contest. The winner will be announced on Monday, May 24, so you don't have a lot of time!

I am usually a fan of dancing/rhythm games. I am probably one of the only overweight people that can beat Max 300 and Max Unlimited on Heavy, I also started guitar and drums on expert on both music games. That being said, I was really looking forward for them to take Dance Dance Revolution to the next step. I was like, "Wow, maybe it will be like a learn to dance video but fun and interactive." Not the case. This is probably one of the worst games I have ever played. The dance moves are repetitive, and even the hardest songs are so easy anyone with a sliver of rhythm can do it. It saddens me. I hope someone comes up with a good dance game soon. Still waiting on DDR for PS3 in October.
