A New Challenger Enters: PSP-4000?

lbppspcase.jpg

I was thinking to myself just yesterday that E3 didn't seem like E3, but I didn't exactly know what was different about this year. I mean, we got follow ups with Microsoft's Kinect and Sony's Move, Nintendo showed off the 3DS, and everyone here got to watch me make a fool out of myself, so I thought that our E3 check list was complete. At least I thought it was complete until I saw this little rumor / slip up...

Usually every time around this part of the year Sony shows off yet another version of the PSP that someone can't possibly live without and while this isn't coming from an E3 conference like we're accustomed to, E3 now feels "complete" with some solid word on a "4000" unit. In the latest issue of MCV UK, an Accessories4Gamers ad featuring new Little Big Planet PSP merch notes that its cute little big case is compatible with the PSP-1000, PSP-2000, PSP-3000, the PSP-N1000 (aka go), and the not yet announced PSP-4000. I would argue that the designers over at the ad house slipped up, but this is no mere typo. This confirms what maybe around the Sony camp have been trying to (poorly) hide recently and hopefully it should be a matter of time before we hear something official. Check out the full add over at The Lost Gamer.
