E3 '10: Video: Bulletstorm

NaviFairy reported on the first day of our arrival in LA that Bulletstorm would be coming out at the start of next year. While touring EA's booth, I had some hands on time with it. At first they showed us a trailer that gave us instructions on how to play the game: kill enemies, kill enemies in varying ways, think creatively about killing your enemies, get points for killing your enemies. The testosterone tries to equally match the Nine Inch Nails song in the trailer above.

These points then accumulate so you can buy upgrades to kill even more enemies.

That is about the jist of what I saw. While there was talking on screen, I was being given kudos and helpful hints by someone behind me, so I could not make out what was being said--though it seemed of little relevance.

You are someone with a gun. You can grab enemies with a leash and kick them, which causes the floating in air slo-mo effect seen in the trailer, and then kill them. You can shoot them in the groin to incapacitate them. Headshots are extra points. While the People Can Fly folks were quick to praise just how sadistic you could be, I found my own time with it rather not as imaginative as I could be (which might say more about me...), though this was an early part of the game.

So far it has only been announced as single player, though you do have AI companions who are pretty capable. Look for it on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 come February 22, 2011.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
