Final Fantasy Versus XIII's Story Is Finished

Remember back in 2006 when we first heard about Final Fantasy Versus XIII? It might be easy to forget for some considering that Square-Enix has almost entirely ignored the game whenever given the chance, most recently featuring a playable version of Final Fantasy XIV at E3 with nary a mention of Versus XIII. Don't worry, Final Fantasy Versus XIII isn't going the way of Duke Nukem Forever, as according to an interview with Dangeki magazine Tetsuya Nomura revealed that the game scenario and story are now complete. He also mentioned that the character designs and clothing designs have been finalized.
Four years since the announcement of the game (and however long of development before that) and they finally have the clothes finished? And I thought I took a lot of prep time before a night on the town.
While I know that we are supposed to be comforted by news that the story and character designs are finished, I'm not. We still really have no idea what the game plays like, and since that's what makes it a videogame rather than a movie, it seems like it should be a pretty important part mention in the last four years. Final Fantasy Versus XIII is supposed to be making a big showing at this September's Tokyo Game Show though, so hopefully more than just CGI cutscenes will be shown to renew faith that not only will Versus XIII actually be released, but that it will actually be a game.

Yes! Now we're one step closer to the development of Kingdom Hearts 3!
4 years pass.
"We are almost finished. Here are the designs."
"Something is off..these are all lacking something."
"Well...we could add some leather straps and buckles."
"YES! Yes...that is what it needs! Add leather straps and buckles! 100 leather straps and buckles for every character!"
"Done and done."
MMMm I'm not too sure about this one. I was a bit disappointed with FFXIII. I was able to reach Pulse but then the Quest and the open world kind of turn me off and I stopped playing.
