Video: Video Games Live On PBS
Video Games Live is coming to PBS this summer, and the video above gives us a glimpse of what to expect. Basically video game music, played live by a full orchestra. And sometimes singers, and Tommy Tellarico on guitar. They also asked Jamie Lee Curtis to talk for some reason! The special is 90 minutes long, and will feature music from the Mario, Zelda, Sonic, Halo, Warcraft, Final Fantasy, Castlevania, God of War, Civilization, Chrono Cross, StarCraft and Guitar Hero series of games. Wait, Guitar Hero? Isn't that game about playing other people's songs?
While the special won't air in most markets for another two months, folks in the Bay Area or Northern California will get special "sneak peek," with KQED airing the special a couple of times this week, June 7th at 7:30 PM and June 8th at 1:30 AM. If you want to make sure your local PBS affiliate airs this, start bugging them now. A CD and DVD/Blu Ray (with 3 hours of bonus footage) will be available when the special airs nationwide, exclusively through PBS.

wow.
so awesome.
totally teared up during the legend of zelda theme. i will definitely be tuning in.
I have been listening to the Video Games Live Album since it was released and it's fantastic. The Czech Philharmonic also has an album called "Play! A Video Game Symphony Live!". It's not quite as good but they play some different songs.
I saw this production when they came around to my area a couple of years back. It's definitely worth checking out!
