A Game Of Thrones: Genesis

Having not read the book, among the things that caught my notice was how many times George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones would be mentioned concerning Dragon Age. Even the lead writer, David Gaider, made mention of its influence. Dark, political fantasy. It's on my seemingly neverending to-read list (which is actually longer than my to-play list).
Meanwhile, Focus Home Interactive today announced that it will be publishing Cyanide's A Game of Thrones: Genesis, which is to be a strategy game for the PC. About a year ago, Martin actually announced that Cyanide Studios would be publishing these games, though he mentioned not only a strategy but RPG title (and consoles, so we may still be waiting on that).
As to be expected from this title, the strategy element means you can make a bid for how to shape the Kingdom of Westeros through military, economic, or diplomatic means while protecting from deceit and betrayal at many corners. You can play the game peacefully or with force, using sieges, assassinations, ransoms, et cetera. All in all, it sounds like it could be quite a varied strategy game.
In his blog entry, Martin mentioned that they had plans to start releasing the games in the summer of 2011, so even if they are on schedule for such a release, we have a bit of time before we'll see the release.
Anyway, below are two pieces of artwork connected with the game for you to enjoy.

It might even fall in line with the premier of the HBO show their making. This is exciting!
I did notice a lot of elements from the books when playing Dragon Age, which made me very happy. It's an amazing book series that I recommend to all my friends.
I'm eagerly anticipating the announcement of a console RPG. If it's anything like Dragon Age and closely follows the storyline of the books, it will be gold!
omg so exciting!
I have to book the summer of 2011 off from work now :P
O-M-G! This has got to be the best news EVER posted on this site. Got me VERY excited. I read his announcement a while back, which is how I learned about Blood Bowl, and have been waiting on further news on this project. Thank you VERY much for bringing that news to me! Yay!
