Club Nintendo Rewards Elite Members With Mario Statue

club nintendo statue.png

I hope you've been registering all of your Nintendo games and filling out surveys through Club Nintendo, because there are some sweet rewards for those that have reached elite status. Last year, platinum members got to choose between the special Wiiware game Doc Luis' Punch Out or an authentic Mario hat, while gold members could receive a Nintendo calendar. There's less choice this time around, but this year Nintendo went the extra mile to create a Mario statue truly deserving of the the game's "super" status.

Measuring 3.9 inches high and 4.6 in diameter, the Mario statue depicts Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, Toad, and a Goomba, and is sure to become a collector's item for all sorts of Nintendo fans. The statue is only available to those who reached platinum status, meaning they redeemed 600 or more Club Nintendo coins between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010. For those who reach gold status, well, Nintendo has another calendar waiting for you. The calendar is filled with exclusive Nintendo artwork, so it's still no slouch of a prize for Nintendo fans, but holy...that statue is awesome.

If you haven't been registering your Nintendo games through Club Nintendo already, you might want to start if this is the trend of how the yearly rewards are going to go. You get 50 coins for each Wii game and 30 for each DS game registered, as well as 10 coins for completing a short survey after each one, which adds up surprisingly quickly over the course of a year.

Congratulations to those who reached elite Club Nintendo status. And happy ebay hunting to those who didn't.

The same terrible calendar again? Really, Nintendo?

NaviFairy said:

Not quite, Rafael, it's a different calendar. From the Club Nintendo site: "Images shown are from the 2010 calendar. The 2011 calendar has all new designs and artwork."

I wonder if I should sell mine? I don't care for Super Mario much unless it's one of those refereshingly cynical RPGs to come out every other year from the franchise.

I spent 800 coins and they only gave me Gold status, wtf? Bleh, I would much prefer the statue over the calendar. Well at least I used those coins to order the silver DS case and I never had a case for my DS.

I like better the Mario Statues that the Mario hat from the last year. I just ordered mine and I also ordered Game&Watch2.

I have 1310 points & no idea what I want. I keep waiting for Nintendo to add items that are in their Japan Club Nintendo rewards catalog, they have some cool stuff.

Has anyone bought the Grill-Off WiiWare game from Club Nintendo? Is it any good? It's only 80 points, but it just doesn't seem like a game that will last long in the fun department.

I bought the grill off game - it is limited fun and actually rather hard, but gets old quick. I know the U.S. rewards catalog sucks, there is nothing worth a damn in there, especially since they've made dsiXLs and nothing to fit them. I got platinum status this year and all I get is a lousy paperweight statue???? come on, I will trade it to anyone who got the hat last year... let me know : bruno1999@gmail.com
