Intellivision Lives On The DS!

Intellivision Lives! has been around for a while. The collection of Intellivision classics has made its way from PC to PS2 to Xbox and whatnot, but in the interest of keeping the console alive (and naturally to make some more money), the title is being brought to the Nintendo DS by Virtual Play Games.
"2010 being the 30th anniversary of the Intellivision console, I'm looking forward to seeing how many new fans will discover Intellivision thanks to this DS version. The Nintendo DS is the perfect platform for the classic Intellivision games", said Keith Robinson, Owner of Intellivision Productions.
Intellivision Lives! will feature over 60 different games including Astrosmash, B-17 Bomber, Shark! Shark!, Motocross, Space Cadet, Thin Ice and many others. And on the DS, the touch screen will be used to replicate the 12-button keypad controller, which is pretty awesome. Unfortunately, a D-pad is going to be a sorry replacement for the disc pad. But the touch screen will help. And I suppose the shoulder buttons will do nicely as the action buttons on the side. Intellivision Lives! will be hitting the DS in September of this year, but you can get a preview of it at the Classic Gaming Expo in Las Vegas from July 31 to August 1! (Why can't they hold that in New York! I wanna go!)

I've been waiting for this since literally the day the DS was announced. It boggled my mind that it took them a year to announce it, and it's boggled my mind more when five years went by without a release date being set.
Yes, Intellvision games play fine on a laptop, but having the overlay on the touch screen will really add something that the various PC and console versions of Intellivision Lives have lacked.
