Gallery: Two Divine Combatants Leaked For Marvel Vs Capcom 3 - Amaterasu And Thor
As Wootini filled us in, the official announcement yesterday gave rise to four new Marvel Vs Capcom 3 characters: Chun Li, Dr. Doom, Trish, and Super Skrull. But those aren't the only new characters to enter the fray at this year's Comic-con. Leaked by Marvel's website last night (and then quickly taken down) were a half dozen screenshots featuring Asgard's Thor and Okami's Amaterasu battling it out. Thankfully, the leaked screenshots were preserved on NeoGaf even after Marvel corrected its goof, so we can still see the two celestial combatants in action.
Thor makes perfect sense to be revealed at Comic-con, especially with how Marvel is going full force with their marketing efforts on next year's Thor film. Amaterasu is a bit of a wild card, but one that made me squeal with glee for a solid 20 minutes after seeing the first screenshot. I can't wait to see what kinds of combos she uses with the celestial brush, though as the game's only quadruped combatant, I can also see the potential for Oddjob-syndrome when fighting a character so low to the ground. It's nice to see Capcom still give its Clover characters some love, and with a sillouette in the latest trailer that can only belong to Viewtiful Joe it looks like there will be even more Clover love yet to come.

Fucking awesome. Glad to see they're playing off the buzz of the upcoming Thor movie --- that makes me wonder if there's any chance we'll see Hit Girl in this game.
It's official I love this game
I'm far too excited about this news! I had previously thought I'd be playing a tournament-unworthy team of three Dantes, but now I realize I have to play Dante, Amaterasu, and whatever other beloved Capcom character they dig up.
