Video: Fallout Chat With Fallout Producer Tim Cain
"This is the world I'm used to but it's not my world" says Tim Cain, producer of the original Fallout, in this interview. You can check out the first half after the jump, but the interview doesn't really get interesting until 2nd part above. In it, Cain discusses in-depth some of the main motivations for the style of the world in Fallout, with his inspiration stemming from his time living just outside out nations' capital and the government fed propaganda from the American 1950 's during the Cold War. Cain talks about Dungeons and Dragons sandbox feel as another force of inspiration when designing the mechanics of Fallout. He also makes mention of the obvious American social commentary as the driving narrative force. For more classic gaming interviews and stories, check out Matt Barton's YouTube Channel.

Such a great chat. I really loved listening to it. Fallout 1 and 2 are still some of my most favorite games to date.
