Continuing the series I posted earlier this week, we have the last four videos in Valve's Portal 2 demo presentation from E3 this year. I offer the spoiler warning because these may be things you want to experience on your own, without Valve revealing them to you.
Above is the video for the Thermal Discouragement Beam, which leaves the poor sentries screaming in pain and calmly saying, "It burns." Cute? Definitely.
Jump below the fold to watch the last three in the series.
Want to hear more pitiful wailing of the sentries? You're in luck with the Pneumatic Diversity Vent!
Repulsion Gel? Our own NaviFairy was explaining to me recent Valve acquisitions of a studio that likely gave them this idea. Bouncey-bounce!
Then we have Propulsion Gel, which does about what you'd expect after seeing it in action. The interesting part of this video, of course, is the little GLADoS speech; something we heard before, but seems more lovely to hear again after all these videos.
So far, Portal 2 looks like a very strong game. Seeing as most of these videos seem to mimic the introduction to the appropriate tool, I can only imagine the later puzzles that are conjured to test everything we've learned. Here is a game whose mechanics are one to which I look forward.
