I've become enamored with the world of Mirror's Edge once more with recent release of the nifty little iDevice side scroller, so seeing just about any parkour video gets me thinking about the quirky platformer. But even if I wasn't such a fan of the game, it's hard to watch the video above without instantly thinking of EA's first-person action title. Intentional or not, the use of the color red, the camera perspective, and motion just feels like certain spots seen in the 2008 title. I don't know about you, but watching this makes me anxious for EA to release something (anything!) about Faith's future.
I should probably take this opportunity to talk about how awesome the iDevice game is. While the $5 ($10 for iPad) side-game may not warrant a full review, the nifty little title that combines simple touch screen interactions with some nice looking visuals for an experience that feels like a much more purposed and cleaner version of Canabalt. Anyone that dug the console game that's also enjoys more traditional 2D side-scrollers will have a great time with the title. Unfortunately there's no demo or lite version available, but it's still price low enough to the point where you can still feel comfortable taking a chance on it. The little app also comes with unlockables, leaderboards, and, of course, time trials that will have you rerunning levels over and over again just to get your times down by a second or two.
