BioWare Offers Free Dragon Age II Upgrade

Okay, Dragon Age fans, listen up! BioWare announced today the Dragon Age II BioWare Signature Edition. This limited edition of the game will feature over $20 of additional content, including a download code for an additional character and new missions, a digital soundtrack, and an in-game digital armory. Best of all? You can get the Signature Edition for no extra cost simply by pre-ordering Dragon Age II for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or PC by January 11, 2011.

"Over the past 15 years, we've been privileged to have the support of a passionate community of fans, who continue to grow in number with every game we release," said Dr. Ray Muzyka, Senior Vice President of Electronic Arts and co-founder and Group General Manager of BioWare. "The BioWare Signature Edition of Dragon Age II is a chance for us to reward loyal fans who pre-order the game by providing them with additional high-quality content for free."

Now this is the kind of Collector's Edition I can really get behind. Those goodies aren't really what I'd consider worth paying $20 for, so it's nice to get them basically as a pre-order bonus. Just keep in mind that after January 11, the Dragon Age II BioWare Signature Edition will no longer be available for purchase or pre-order, so don't get caught napping or you'll end up with just a regular edition and probably have to pay extra for the DLC!

Sweet. I'll preorder this when I preorder this other game tomorrow.

Considering Shale was my favorite companion, and offered through a similar way, I'll likely pick this up.

As much faith as I have in the writing team, I still have yet to see anything thus far that warrants my money/purchase. And this is coming from someone that considers DA:O to be their new number one favorite game.

I will wait and see. It depends heavily on the companion characters, plotline, and romance options with me.

They're going to have to convince me that they will include a gay option for male characters, because Bioware seems to like backpedaling on all that inclusiveness as of late.

Zach Risso said:

I will be holding off getting the game as well on the sole condition of the romance options.

Bioware seem to be following the pattern of the more mainstream, the less offensive the the masses it has to be:

1) More Jesus / finding religion / finding faith.

2) Watered down sterotype characters / Pridictible (dont scare the dummys) / Awww moments between characters.

3) 100% LESS GAY! 100% MORE LESBIANS AND NOT ANY REALISTIC PORTRAYAL, MAKE SURE THOSE LEZZERS ARE ALL OVER A GUY!1111

People who are buying this second installment JUST because the first one are being pandered to for no reason. Earn my money for number 2 Bioware, this is a recession, no free rides.

At the end it was meant to be "just because the first one was successful"
