Evil Dead For iPhone Is Adorable, Gory
Although there isn't much to go on besides a trailer (see it after the break), an Evil Dead app is coming to the AppStore, and it looks like it will be both super cute and really disturbing. Or maybe really disturbing because it's super cute? The game, or whatever it ends up being, looks to be a faithful recreation of the cult film of the same name, except using Nintendo Mii-like characters to act out the story, complete with zombies, chainsaws, and blood. In fact, the trailer is almost a shot for shot reproduction of the original movie's trailer.
Without any info about who is making this, it's possible this is just a lark from dedicated fanboys, and as a result won't get approved by the appstore or taken down by the copyright holders. THQ published the last few console games based on the series, and recently a game based on Army of Darkness, the third film in the series, was announced by Backflip Studios in partnership with MGM. Hopefully we can assume that everything here is copacetic too, and we'll be playing as an adorable little Bruce Campbell dismembering his girlfriend before too long.
