Accessorize! Sonic Charges Your Wiimotes With A Smile

What's the best use for the space above your Wii remotes? Even if they're not attached to a charging station of some sort, it's pretty difficult to stack anything fun or useful on them and hope it to stay there. Why not fill the airspace above your Wii remotes with your favorite non-Nintendo mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog? You can do just such a thing with this new accessory by MadCatz!
Utilizing the near-magic technology of 'induction,' this device will allow the batteries in your Wiimotes to rejuice just by being placed at Sonic's feet. Similar to the Energizer induction charger already available, the accompanying batteries will also magnetize to the appropriate location. It couldn't be easier!
It could, however, be cheaper. The Sonic the Hedgehog Limited Edition Inductive Charger will set you back $49.99, which in normal accessory dollars is enough to charge four remotes and maybe wrap one in a new silicone jacket. The premium price, according to the manufacturer, is due to the limited nature of these setpieces. Each one is individually numbered, though that number has yet to be revealed. Sega also counts this as "just in time to celebrate Sonic's 20th Anniversary"--this gamer counts it as about half a year too early, but what are facts in the face of good marketing patter?
The MadCatz online store lists the limited-edition charger for your purchasing pleasure. And remember--it's not like you're doing anything else with that space!
