Meet Dragon Age II's Fenris

The newest character revealed for next year's Dragon Age II is Fenris, an elf with a Beiber-cut and some serious issues.
Once slave to a Tevinter magister, Fenris was altered: lyrium was burned into his flesh, its magic both stripping his memory as well as changing him forever. He became a living weapon, and eventually used his power to escape his chains. Now he finds himself in a strange land with no friends--and a former master that refuses to let him be.
Aw, no friends? I'm sure he only needs a few hugs and he'll be all right. As an aside, why are mages so obsessed with living weapons? They never seem to turn out that well. Despite his magical origins, Fenris seems to get into the thick of battle (Arcane mage?), and probably has a bit of aggression to work off.
After the break, check out a video of the combat in the PC version of the game featuring the previously revealed characters. Mike Laidlaw, who is apparently designing the game in the Batcave or something, walks though both the action oriented hack and slash and the more ponderous pause and play style.

As long as he's not the only gay option... again.
I second wohdin's comment. Although, I will be happy to receive ANY gay relationship. There are always mods, but an official gay love interest is always better.
While having more gay relationship options is better, I do hope he is one of the options. Mmmm, angsty elf, definately my cup of tea
The more I see about this game, the more eager I am to play it. I only dabbled in the first, but thought it was a really great collection of characters and interactions. Looks like more of the same fun. Also, this guy definitley works for me. Hopefully the "angsty elf" will be up for dinner and a movie.
So basically he is the male version of Jack from mass effect 2.........I'll probably still love this game, but bioware is getting lazy. They keep making the same game over and over it seems. Such things happen though when you are bought out by EA.
Also, I agree......please let there be a non elf gay character.
@Josh- That crossed my mind too. Granted I found Jack fascinating, but that amnesiatic experiment victim trope has been done before. And this is what happens in a market where its easier and more cost effective to make sequels than develop new IPs. Redundancy.
Back to the character. I dig his look and his potential for mayhem (uber powerful dangerous, check) but why are we assuming he's the gay/bi character? I mean, besides the wishful thinking on my part.
he kinda looks like xandir from drawn together
True, he is way to much like Jack. I hope he's not the gay option (will they even include it or will they simply write it off due to Hawke being straight?), it's way to predictable.
Hmmm, too Dante-emoish looking for my taste... and it doesn't help his back story is somewhat stereotypical for Bioware. He sounds a (tad) bit like DA2's version of Geralt, white hair, glum mood and sword & magic included.
I mean it comes down to personal preferences but I will always choose an elf over a dwarf.
