A More Friendly NGP

near.jpgNot only does Sony's Next Generation Portable offer a powerful processing unit capable of dishing out graphics like those on the PS3, but it also has several features that enable more fluid socialization among its users. Getting rid of its familiar XMB interface, Sony is implementing a new user interface called Live Area that gives you an easier way to launch old features such as Trophies, Game Launch, and Photos. You will also be able to manage your friend lists and message friends with a few simple taps.

A new addition is the Near feature that lets your NGP track where you are and also where you've been. With its 3G and GPS capabilities, Near will also be used in conjunction with many games to enable a more interactive and social gaming experience. You can use Near anytime to find out if friends or strangers are playing the same game, join their games, or even download games on the spot if you don't happen to have it.

A game based on hidden secrets and mysteries of the Illuminati, the symbolism of the elite is portrayed in this beautifully crafted 5-reel video slot. Expanding Wild and Scatter animations bring the game to life. A special bonus game brings the player into the fold of the secret society: Deep within the gothic corridors of power, the masked statues hide their truths - are they angels or demons? Players need to match the keys to the chests to find out. To add a little more intrigue, players can risk all or half their bonus winnings on another test of chance. Players may never look at the Key of Life or the Fleur de Lis in the same way again.

I think this is a good change to the xmb, but I'm not sure I'm liking the Near feature. What if my NGP decides to cheat on my bf's NGP? I wouldn't want him to see my NGP right on top of another NGP! :p

Hopefully there's a privacy setting.

I thought GPS-based gaming was kind of a lame gimmick when Gizmondo tried it. But glad to hear Sony's thinking outside the box more than they did last time around.

I keep listening to the news broadcast talk about receiving free online grant applications so I have been looking around for the best site to get one
