Duke Nukem Forever Gets Release Date, Hell Freezes Over

There were many who thought that this day wouldn't come. There have been entire websites dedicated to the fact that Duke Nukem Forever is perhaps the biggest joke of gaming history. The king of all vaporware, there were many (myself included) who believe that Duke Nukem forever would be relegated to something you joke about on April Fools Day when you can't think of anything better. Looks like we need a new joke, however, as 2k Games has announced a release date of May 3rd, 2011 for the United States, with the rest of the world following suit on May 6th, marking the end of 14 years of development on the title.
It is a little staggering to think of how the world has changed in the time we've waited for Duke Nukem Forever. In the time since development began, for instance, the entire Harry Potter series was released. I've never been a fan of the Duke Nukem Games, but it will be interesting to see what was accomplished in that time. Also, I'm looking forward to silly Youtube videos of people busting out their yellowed Babbages preorder slips and trying to get some money back from them.

I'm not sure I understand what's going on in that cover...what's up with the female hand? Where's her face? Or should I say, is her face where I think it is?
LOL at the super phallic cover art. Duke is obviously being rimmed.
the new trailer was pretty funny actually... 2K goes as far as to promise they're "fucking bringing it" haha
Duke Nukem 3-D was the first FPS I ever played, lo those many years ago. I used a flight stick, of all things, to aim (this was before mouse aiming existed, if that tells you anything). I even had the Saturn version (wish I till did, it was a great port, especially if you had the NiGHTS analog pad). I really can't wait for Duke Forever, now that it's actually coming. The minute Steam has a pre-order, I'm getting it.
That is one legendary fart.
I still don't believe it, to be honest...
Pretty tired of all the smartasses saying "oh I'll believe it when I see it, OHOHOHOHOHOH". It's like people think they're so savvy that they know this game's fate. This game is in the hands of Gearbox, it's finished, it's done. All the legal stuff is over with. The game is coming to PC, PS3 and XBOX 360, all lights are green. Duke Nukem Forever is about to be released and nothing will stop it, it's turbulent production is over.
What are all the negative losers going to say when it comes out? When they see it on the shelves? Plug their ears and go "LALALALALALA DUKE NUKEM FOREVER WILL NEVER COME OUT IT'S A JOKE LALALALA"? Or jump on the inevitable hate bandwagon it will get for "not living up to the hype".
It just really bothers me.
