New Hori Filters Offer Extreme 3DS Protection
I am one of those people who dreads taking a brand new electronic device out of its protective covering and using it. This hesitation is doubled when the device in question is touch-based and very likely to get scratched or smudged like my iPhone or DS Lite. In fact, when I got my DS Lite, I didn't take it out of its protective baggie until my Hori filters arrived in the mail. They helped me focus more on my gaming and less on whether Elite Beat Agents would be destroying my touch screen with all that stylus grinding.
Thankfully for future 3DS owners who share my fears, Hori has created officially licensed 3DS filters that will be released the same day the 3DS goes on sale in Japan on February 26. One pack is called the "Pita Hari Filter" which covers the bottom and top screens and sells for ¥780. The other, more extreme, option is the "Full Pita Hari Filter" which contains six pieces that cover the system on all its sides including its outer and inner surfaces. It sells for ¥1,480. As always, both packs come with a cleaning cloth and an easy applicator card.
The 3DS may be region-locked, but that won't stop me from importing some of these screen-saving goodies.

Hori makes good product, but if screen filters were really so good, wouldn't the DS come with some?
I really should've gotten a screen protector
Playing Elite Beat Agents and both Ouendan games has left my touch screen with lots of circular scratches
Why would you need a protective film over your directional pad and buttons? O_o
I'm buying just the screen guards.
