Goro and Jade were the latest fighters to be revealed to be making their mark in the upcoming Mortal Kombat game gracing the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 26. But aside from the classic kombatants revealed so far, God of War antihero Kratos will also be making a guest appearance on the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Knowing how Mortal Kombat games just love tossing that letter K around, it makes sense they'd pick Kratos. Plus, his games are pretty gory and bloody to begin with, so it's a no-brainer to even imagine the guy pulling off a Fatality or two.
Since his reveal, Xbox 360 owners wondered whether they would also be getting an exclusive character in a similar fashion to Soul Calibur IV's Yoda and Darth Vader. Unfortunately for Xbox 360 owners, the Mortal Kombat team stated via their Twitter that "the only exclusive character is Kratos for PS3." If your console of choice is the Xbox 360, I know what you're thinking. "What a load of krap."
The same thing happened a while back with Batman: Arkham Asylum which exclusively gave PS3 owners Joker as a playable character. If you own both consoles, though, does this announcement make it easier to decide what console to get the game for? Or are guest characters really unnecessary on a major fighting game? Or could that statement simply be misinterpreted? Time will tell.
