Gay icon and worldwide superstar Kylie Minogue is about to launch her European Aphrodite: Les Folies Tour 2011, and the headline sponsor of the 15-country, 35-show production is going to be Harmonix's Dance Central!
"Dance is a huge passion of mine and I'm very excited for my fans to see the routines and choreography that have been created for Aphrodite Les Folies," Minogue says. "I am delighted that Dance Central is sponsoring my European tour, it's a perfect synergy. My fans will also have a chance to put their own dance moves to the test as 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' is one of the tracks on Dance Central - good luck!"
The sponsorship will also include a marketing campaign asking fans "Can you out-dance Kylie?" that will run across all Xbox social media, online and Xbox LIVE destinations. Of course, I'm assuming that's just for European outlets, and us fans in the US are out of luck (as usual). The tour, which kicks off in Herning, Denmark on February 19 and climaxing in London, England on April 12, will feature Kinect pods with Dance Central at each venue offering fans the chance to try to out-dance Kylie by performing the choreography to "Can't Get You Out Of My Head." (Luckily, it's one of the easier routines.)
Xbox will also have exclusive backstage access to the rehearsals, and will be creating a series of webisodes including interviews with Kylie about the show. These will be released across Xbox's European Facebook pages over the course of the tour to get more exposure. Hopefully Kylie fans in the US will at least be able to watch those! (And who knows, maybe Xbox will do something similar in the US when she wings her way here. I've got my tickets for May!)
