Video: Meet Adam Jensen, Augmented Human In Deus Ex

If you're Adam Jensen, you have a very special place in the universe of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. As a security specialist, you're not required to engage in any of the controversial augmentation research that goes on in the labs around you, but you can still comment forebodingly! After that, you'll get your chance at that smug, "I told you so," sometime in between the bloody lab disaster, the kidnapping of your loved one, and the point where your arms come off.

Cyberpunk snark aside, this trailer does do a fine job of setting up some of the expectations of the world we'll be playing in 2027. In a few quick scenes, it explains Adam's words from the original trailer: "I never asked for this." We also get some glimpses of gameplay at the end, though it seems worryingly like any other modern shooter with its focus on iron sights and mowing down enemies. We've been promised wide environments and plenty of options for getting the mission done, so we'll just have to see if Eidos Montréal chose the path of multiple paths.

Also, did anyone see the outfits on these scientists? If nothing else, I'm going to be playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution to see more Renaissiance-era outfits mixed with abject angular futurism. Viva la revolución!
