Nintendo's 3DS Launch Event Set

As crazy as the Pokémon Black and White launch was, I expect the release of the 3DS to top it as far as insanity. And Nintendo has just revealed where they'll be holding their official launch event And it's not going to be at their Flagship Nintendo World Store!
No, this time, it will be held in the Best Buy store in Union Square (corner of 14th St. and 4th Ave.) in New York City. The event is scheduled to run from 9pm to 2am, and Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime himself is set to be working the line around 10pm. Of course, I doubt I'm the only one itching to get his hands on this system, so the crowd should be pretty substantial. They're expecting over a thousand people, so you might want to line up just a little bit before 9!
I'll have more details as we get closer to the event, but just wanted to give you a heads-up!
UPDATE: I just learned that the Nintendo World Store will not be having a launch event at the same time. If you go, you'll be directed to Best Buy. So don't waste your time!
UPDATE 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO: Okay, so if you have pre-ordered a 3DS system at Nintendo, I am told that you will be able to pick it up between 12 midnight and 1am on Saturday night. But only if you pre-ordered one there. Otherwise, just head on over to the official party at Best Buy!

Damn...I think I might just get mine from Gamestop around launch to trade in my old DSi. Not sure I can handle the insanity of a launch night.
Wait till you get your hands on the system, I had the opportunity to check it out last year in Seattle at our conference and finally received mine this past Tueday, the final model is pretty awesome and I'm glad they sent us Aqua it's pretty sharp looking.I can honestly take or leave 3d but I'm looking forward to picking up Ridge Racer and seeing the effects.
Wootini how does one get you an email BTW..I've sent one off twice to your GG email only to have it returned..use my email above if you need to.
Don't know why it's being returned. It's just wootini@gaygamer.net
And you didn't have an E-mail of your own to use there.
But I'm super-psyched to get my own 3DS, too. The little samplings of it I got at E3 and at the press preview in February weren't nearly enough!
I'll try it again. '-)
