River City Ransom 2 In Development, Fans Barf For Joy

Developer Miracle Kidz has announced that it's going to be resurrecting River City Ransom later this year with the long-awaited River City Ransom 2. Yes, there's finally a sequel in development for the NES classic. As a long-time River City Ransom fan, I am quite eager to see the return of one of the best brawlers from the 8-bit era.
But wait, who are these Miracle Kidz folks? Apparently Miracle Kidz is an independent game studio led by Mitsuhiro Yoshida and Hiroyuki Sekimoto, the original creators of the Kunio-kun series that included games like Crash 'n the Boys: Street Challenge, Super Dodge Ball, and of course, River City Ransom. Miracle Kidz even released an update to Super Dodge Ball on Xbox 360 back in 2009 which I wrongly labeled at the time as a case of idea theft. That game, Downtown Smash Dodgeball, will even receive a WiiWare port in Japan later this year.
River City Ransom 2 is currently slated for release later this year on consoles, and next year on PC. Though there is no official word yet regarding which console it will appear on, considering that Miracle Kidz already developed a game on the Xbox 360, that system is a pretty safe bet.

Hey, that's great news! River City Ransom was one of the best NES games ever! Kunio Kun for SNES was nice, but, you know, it's hard to play an adventure/RPG in japanese! :P
I hope they update the graphics a bit, but maintaining the cartoony style from the original.
Oh man River City Ransom was pretty much 100% of my childhood visits to my cousins (who were the proud owners of the game).
I even remember getting busted playing it in Computer Science class in high school. I'm pretty sure I would have gotten off with no punishment until the teacher asked about the program I used to run it and in the about section it was NESticle with a big fat face on a testicle. After that it was detention, haha.
