Video: Wootini's Video Podcast #13: 3DS Launch
Sorry about the running time on the vidcast this week — It's my longest yet. But this time I had to cover the launch of the Nintendo 3DS! And there were actually two events, as Nintendo threw a little thing in the afternoon, and then counted down to midnight over the course of the day. So there's footage of all that, Reggie's speechifying, and then I ponder where things might have gone wrong.

Great coverage. Agree with everything you said including the marketing part, and overall I am still glad I ended up getting one on launch day. I really wanted to see one to know if I would like it first, but when I loaded up Star Wars I was blown away.
Really can't wait for a real title from Nintendo though =)
Thanks for the video, I was upset because my 3DS is not arriving until tomorrow so at least I got distracted XD. About the Nintendo launch party... I don't know the similarites between the NYC launch party and the one in LA but the Nintendo launch parties here (California# are kind of boring. I went to the DSi launch party and it was fun #just because it was in Universal#. I read the description for the launch party of the 3DS in LA:

No food
the first 25 in line will get something #first 25 in a city as big as LA?? are you kidding me??)

So... basicaly I have to be there waiting in line freezing my XXXX off to buy the 3DS or I can wait a couple of days buying it on amazon.com and getting two cupons one for 25 bucks the other one for $ 10. I guess I'm a practical person but I decided to wait a couple of days. At least there weren't booth babes around, don't get me wrong they are good looking but I always feel like getting paid to look pretty and talk with geeks is some kind of gramatical prostitution.
