Video: Jill Valentine & Shuma-Gorath Rock Your Two Worlds Next Week
You knew they were coming, but now you get to see what they do! After weeks of waiting (and a few unofficial videos), the detailed trailers for Marvel vs Capcom 3's first DLC characters have hit the scene with a bang!
First up is Jill Valentine, video above. She appears in wholly different form from the last game - fans of Resident Evil 5 will recognize Wesker's crystal in her chest, and her merciless battle cries and victory pose suggest she's still feeling some of his control. Her style is reminiscent of Wesker's, with some Cammy thrown in - quick stricks with lots of kicks and low attacks leading to overheads. She'll certainly be an interesting one to play!
Next is Shuma-Gorath, whose video hides out below. This master of chaos looks to play very similarly to his MvC2 form, using those tentacles to get some decent range and hitboxes during air combos.
Both characters are releasing next week at the price of $5 each, which is a bit of a shame--I, at least, was hoping for a package deal; maybe $8 for the pair. If Capcom wants $10 every month or so for the new character sets, my budget might demand I get a little choosy with who my friends and I are going to play with.

Thanks, but no. MvC3 was a huge, huge disappointment, and I don't see myself even getting the game until it's a bargain bin commodity, and Capcom's blatant abuse of DLC is just another reason for me to turn away from what was, once upon a time, my absolute favorite game company.
The Capcom I grew up loving is long gone. I shall not look upon their like again.
um...are you sure about this? last I heard that Jill and Shuma were going to be FREE downloads AFTER the game was releaseed, like 4 weeks later.

yeah I just checked Capcom's site and it's true: you're gonna have to pay for both of them. what a fucking rip off, I could've sworn they said they were going to be free d/l's after 4 weeks.
I might still pay for it, though, since some ppl online will prolly have em and kick my ass with them.

Actually the rumor was that Frank West and Elektra were going to be free DLC as they were supposed o be finished models that were just left out of the game because of Frank West's technical issues.
I think Jill's entrance pose is a mess, and she was more cat-like in RE5 with the crouching, but here she walks like a hunchback.
If Jill and Shuma were released as free DLC, there would have been a lot of pissed off Special Edition buyers, because it was the main reason people bought the SE.
Shuma-Gorath was always my favourite from previous Marvel Capcom games, especially in lavender.

I love that they put Jill in MvC3. I've been saving a spot for her on my team. But I have to say she's... different from last time. In MvC2 she had her entire arsonal (now Chris has it# and she could summon zombies #my friends hated them). I have to admitt that I miss the the RE1 Jill, the moves and the costume. But I can see that Capcom wanted a more "Badass" look and feel for MvC3, over MvC2's almost goofy over the top exageration. But that doesn't mean that I won't be downloading her come 3/15. It just means I got some new moves to learn and new combos to come up with. I still love Capcom and I LOVE Resident Evil!
