Alice: Madness Returns Running Amok With New Screens
For those of us with a tendency toward the twisted side of the action-adventure genre, there's been a long, long wait for Alice: Madness Returns. American McGee's sequel to his PC horror hit from 2000 is looking sharper than a Vorpal Blade, and these newly-released screenshots simply scream, 'snicker-snack.'
Assets for this game have been somewhat sparse from EA--so much so that I'd actually forgotten it was releasing in just two months, on June 14. We've only seen one trailer with the taste of gameplay on it, but there may be plenty more to sink our teeth into by the time the game hits shelves.
Of particular note may be the enchanted unicorn-mace, a closer look at Alice's chaingun-type weapon, and not-one-but two deadly dresses! One with alchemical symbols on the apron and flowers galore, and another strap-heavy design and a corset with butterfly-wing tie-offs. Moody!
Red Queen willing, we'll all be donning such deadly delights in a few short months. Stay alert til then!

That is definitely a giant pepper grinder in the last picture (the chaingun type weapon) ala The Duchess from the children's story. I love how creative American McGee gets with twisting the world of Alice into morbidly amusing games. It's like having one of my favorite books from my childhood being rewritten by H.P. Lovecraft and then directed by Wes Craven with character design by Clive Barker. Can't wait!
