New L.A. Noire Trailer Provides Background On Story, Gameplay

For those who haven't been keeping up on Rockstar and Team Bondi's upcoming title L.A. Noire, the latest trailer will bring you nicely up to speed. Showing how you, humble player, ascend from the ranks of of lowly beat cop to the top of the Vice Squad, Rockstar's latest bit of video goodness concisely introduces you the fundamentals of the game. As always, the facial animations are utterly ridiculous thanks to a fancy new whizbang, the MotionScan (created by Depth Analysis) in which dozens of cameras are placed around the actor's face to precisely map subtle details of his or her movements.

I've been consistently pleased with Rockstar, so my hopes are high for their latest offering. It's also worth noting that I absolutely adore the Noir aesthetic, so i'm cautiously optimistic. Being a big fan of L.A. Noire's concept, I'm hopeful that the game will meet my expectations -- said expectations being realistic, casting aside the hype surrounding it.

L.A. Noire is set for release on May 17th.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
